During this exchange, I was deeply grateful for the attentive care and warm hospitality of my buddy's family. Every time I saw my buddy's father diligently preparing meals and proudly introducing me to the vegetables he grew back home, and every time he acted as a little tour guide, I truly felt the sincerity and simplicity of the Shanghainese people. During those days, it felt as if I had never left my home in Hong Kong, for I felt the same warmth and kindness.

I wasn't just a stranger strolling through the streets and alleys of Shanghai; I was also a young guest having the opportunity to experience the inner peace of a local family. Braised lion's head, cold jellyfish head salad, three-fresh hot pot, fried spring rolls, cold cucumber salad—there were so many more dishes meticulously prepared by my grandmother. Upon entering the house, I was greeted by a dazzling array of mouth-watering dishes, leaving no empty seat at the table. It was the warm hospitality of my buddy's family that quickly integrated me into their family and instantly dispelled any barriers I had as a stranger. They allowed me to explore local culture in its purest form, savoring the flavors of Shanghai, imbued with family warmth, and leaving behind unforgettable memories.

At dusk, the lights of Fudan University were dim, and a cherry blossom forest filled the ground, its blossoms filling the sky. I walked around and around, perhaps even seeing myself reflected on the paper I was sketching. Spring in Shanghai is awash with cherry blossoms, and the air is filled with the vibrant spring air, whether along the roadsides or in the gardens. Emerald green horse-faced skirts swept across the stone pavement of Zhujiajiao, the aroma of snacks wafted across miles, and the ancient streets were filled with laughter, bringing a sense of fulfillment. At that moment, I longed to be a person of the past, fanning myself, paddling a boat, transporting me to the same space thousands of years ago, allowing me to witness firsthand the gentleness and grandeur of tradition.
